French Resistance political badge dated 1942, depicting a winged rider holding a torch, symbolising wartime French patriotism and resistance activity during the Nazi occupation. The badge retains a clear and intact strike with visible age-related oxidation and surface discoloration consistent with period manufacture, while the reverse shows honest wear from use. The pinback assembly remains intact with no major damage or heavy corrosion present. The reverse is maker marked ‘Franz Petzl’ with the stamped Vienna address (Wien, 15 Braunmirschen G22), confirming period production and origin.
